Toys were never innocent playthings to me.  I have always seen them as ‘funhouse mirror’ reflections of the culture that made them.

I’m suspicious of the helpful attitudes of action figures.  And for good reason, as their true agenda reveals itself in my studio.  The couples pair up overnight, so that by the time I arrive, these salacious confederacies are a fait accompli.

My only task, therefore, is to stage their presentation like a hired prom photographer, capturing these awkward moments for posterity, frozen in ice.
